Accurately assessing the bioavailability of drug compounds
Syngene offers a comprehensive panel of assays that help accurately gauge a drug’s oral absorption properties, permeability, and transport across cell membranes. We utilize parallel artificial membrane permeability assay (PAMPA) models to assess a drug’s characteristics such as gastrointestinal tract (GIT) absorption and blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability.
Our offering includes Caco-2 assays that evaluate the intestinal absorption and transport of drug candidates. We also measure the bidirectional permeability across monolayers of Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cell lines transfected with various genes or cells, helping us predict compounds that are substrates for BBB permeability.
The assays that we offer include:
- GIT-PAMPA
- BBB-PAMPA
- Intrinsic permeability in Caco-2 cell models
- Breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP)-MDCK-II
- Multidrug resistance protein (MDR1)-MDCK-II
- Lilly laboratories cell-porcine kidney (LLC-PK1)-MDR1
